Fresh off a hard-fought runner-up finish in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Wright Motorsports is now taking a trip north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park as the group looks to build on their podium momentum in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Ohio-based team will once again field the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) with full season drivers Adam Adelson and Callum Ilott in the third sprint event of the 2026 season.
After finishing second in the six-hour endurance classic at Watkins Glen to score their second podium finish of the year, Wright Motorsports now arrives at one of North America's fastest and most demanding road courses aiming to convert their competitive results into the shorter 2 hour 40 minute format following their success in endurance rounds.
The last sprint outing saw them finish fourth at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca back in early May, and now they will be aiming to take it a step further and climb onto the podium in Canada.
Located in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is known for its high-speed nature, dramatic elevation changes, and old-school approach. Adelson in particular knows the circuit well and has previous podium experience, scoring a second-place finish this time last year in his VP Racing SportsCar Challenge campaign.
“Our goal coming into this race is to win, that’s why we’re out here,” said Adam Adelson. “Although Daytona put us in a tough spot in the championship standings, and unless some more miraculous things happen, I think it’s going to be challenging for us to get back in contention for the title. For us, we’ll keep learning, keep building, and do the absolute best we can to try to win races, including this next sprint round at CTMP.”
“Hopefully we’ll get that P1 we’ve been striving for at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, that would be really good,” added Callum Ilott. “I’ve never been to CTMP before, but I just feel better and better with the car. I’m getting more comfortable and familiar with it, and I know what it needs in the race in order to be fast. I'm excited to see what we can do.”
Wright Motorsports will return to the track for the third sprint round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season on the weekend of July 10th to 12th, 2026. The 2h40min race will commence at 2:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, with broadcast coverage in the United States available on Peacock, as well as internationally via the IMSA YouTube channel.
