Wright Motorsports Aiming for Strong Finish at Petit Le Mans for IMSA Season Finale
Wright Motorsports is making their way to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend for the 29th annual Petit Le Mans. Scheduled for September 30th to October 2nd, this marks the season finale event of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Ohio-based team is seeking a strong finish to their 2026 campaign, which has included two previous podium appearances in endurance races this year.
Full season drivers Adam Adelson and Callum Ilott will be welcoming back Michelin Endurance Cup driver Tom Sargent into the fold as the trio take on the ten-hour contest with their No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). They finished third together in the 12 Hours of Sebring, and second in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, and now will be vying for the top step at Road Atlanta.
The team previously completed a successful test at the 2.54-mile road course leading up to the event, with valuable data and information gathered in preparation for the last endurance race on the calendar.
“It’s been a long season with plenty of ups and downs, and unfortunately we’re headed to Petit outside of championship contention,” said Adam Adelson. “However, I like to think this allows us to go into the last round with no pressure and nothing to lose, and I know that the whole team is chomping at the bit for a good result. We haven’t stopped working hard to continue our improvement, and we have one last chance this year to show it.”
“I’ve heard interesting things about Petit Le Mans,” added Callum Ilott. “It’s a great circuit with a lot of action, all coming together for a battle-for-survival at the finish. It’s going to be fun. We had a good test at Road Atlanta a couple of weeks back. It’s a track that requires you to be precise with your timing and it demands a high level of commitment and aggression. I’m looking forward to it and we’re aiming to finish the season on a high.”
“I’m excited to be coming back for Petit Le Mans and to be finishing out the final round of the championship,” Tom Sargent expressed. “It’s been a bit of an up-and-down season here so we’re really looking forward to it closing out the year in strong fashion and showing that we have the pace. Unfortunately, Road America was not the greatest race for me so I’m looking forward to making amends for that. This is the most chaotic race of the year and we know it’s not going to be easy to win, but we are excited and optimistic.”
Wright Motorsports will take to the track on Thursday, October 1, for Practice 1, with Practice 2 and GTD qualifying scheduled for Friday. The season finale, Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, will be held Saturday, October 2, beginning at 12:10 p.m. and concluding at 10:10 p.m. ET.
The race will be broadcast live in the United States on NBC and Peacock, with international coverage available via the IMSA YouTube channel.
