Wright Motorsports continues its West Coast swing this upcoming weekend as the team heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for Round 4 of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Following a productive test at the California circuit, the Ohio-based group is focused on delivering a competitive result in the second sprint endeavor of the season.

Full-season drivers Adam Adelson and Callum Ilott will once again pilot the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo in the highly competitive GTD class. The recent test at the 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course provided valuable insights ahead of the two-hour, 40-minute contest.

Wright Motorsports returns to Laguna Seca with strong motivation and a proven track record. The team earned a podium finish at the circuit in 2021, followed by a victory in 2022. Most recently, Adelson secured his first IMSA WeatherTech sprint race podium at Laguna Seca in 2024 with a third-place finish. This is an achievement he is aiming to replicate in 2026, if not better, this time around as the Californian tackles another home-state race.

Ilott, meanwhile, brings prior experience at Laguna Seca from his time in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. While his background at the track provides a very solid foundation, this weekend presents an exciting challenge for the Brit as he takes on the fast and flowing circuit with the Porsche 911 GT3 R platform.

Together, Adelson and Ilott are determined to contend at the front of the GTD field. With a strong, established baseline and a history of success at Laguna Seca, Wright Motorsports is well-positioned to fight for a return to the podium.

“Long Beach was a hard one to swallow,” said Adam Adelson. “Being my home race and the only street circuit we race on, I always hope to do well there, but we just didn’t have the straight line speed we needed to be competitive. I’m more optimistic about Laguna Seca, as it’s a Porsche track through and through. We’ve found a lot of performance in the car since the start of the season, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we stack up against the other competition.”

“We had a good test in Laguna Seca after Long Beach,” added Callum Ilott. “It’s a track that I’ve always loved and had great speed at in IndyCar. I think it suits our Porsche well, and we worked well together during the test to find a strong baseline that we can hit the ground running with. It’s going to be an action-packed weekend, we’re excited as a team and looking forward to bringing home a stronger result.”

On-track action begins Friday, May 1, with the first practice session scheduled for 3:20 PM PT. The second practice will take place Saturday morning, May 2, at 9:55 AM, followed by GTD qualifying at 3:15 PM PT. The weekend culminates on Sunday, May 3, with the Monterey SportsCar Championship going green at 1:10 PM PT. The two-hour, 40-minute race will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock, with international viewers able to watch via the official IMSA YouTube channel.
