Wright Motorsports is gearing up for a highly competitive start to the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, confirming a dynamic driver lineup for both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the full-season campaign. The Ohio-based team will field the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo at Daytona International Speedway, led by drivers Adam Adelson, Callum Ilott, Tom Sargent, and Elliott Skeer.
Wright Motorsports enters the new season with high expectations. The team previously earned the GTD victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2022 and added a commanding runner-up finish in 2025. With a young, ambitious, and well-rounded roster, the group now sets its sights on returning to the top step of the podium this upcoming January.
Team owner and driver Adam Adelson returns to the GTD category for his third full season in the WeatherTech Championship, once again committing to both the driver’s seat and leadership duties within the Wright Motorsports program. Having notched an additional two podium finishes in WeatherTech competition in 2025, as well as top honors in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge championship, Adelson and Wright Motorsports are entering the new year targeting a return to victory at one of sports car racing’s most prestigious events.
“I’m extremely excited to get the 2026 season started off with Daytona,” stated Adam Adelson. “We have a new car in the 911 GT3 R Evo, and have been working hard in the off season to be able to extract the most of it as soon as we hit the track. I’m also very excited that Callum is joining the team for the full season. We’ve been good friends for quite some time and always spoke about how cool it would be to race together, and I’m glad to see that come to fruition. For the Rolex 24, we have Tom and Elliott with us, and it’s a driver lineup I know we can count on to bring home a really strong result, hopefully better than last year!”
Ilott reunites with Wright Motorsports after previously partnering with Adelson and Skeer at the 2023 Indianapolis 8 Hour. He has amassed an impressive résumé over the years, highlighted by success in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and competitive outings in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class. His blend of single-seater and endurance expertise marks him as a potent addition to the team’s 2026 charge as they strive for a championship run.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Wright Motorsports for the full season in GTD alongside my IndyCar season,” added Callum Ilott. “Having raced with Wright Motorsports once before, I got a taste of how impressive the team is and I’m motivated to continue building on that throughout the year. It’s shaping up to be a great season ahead and I can’t wait to get to work with Adam, Elliott, Tom and the whole Wright crew.”
Returning for his second season with the team, Tom Sargent resumes his role as the squad’s Michelin Endurance Cup driver. In 2025, the Australian standout aided the group in securing two major podium finishes at both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His sophomore season will see him continue to support the full-season pairing throughout the Endurance Cup rounds with the goal of adding to the team’s ongoing success.
“I’m very happy to be back with Wright Motorsports again as the endurance driver for 2026,” Tom Sargent expressed. “2025 was a year full of new experiences for me with both some highs and lows, and I learned a massive amount throughout my first season in IMSA. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and experience from my first year with the team, and I’m ready to build and improve on that. I feel this will be a much better season for us this year and I’m looking forward to putting our mark on this championship.”
Rounding out the lineup is longtime Wright Motorsports stalwart Elliott Skeer, whose deep familiarity with both the team and Porsche machinery has made him a cornerstone contributor over many seasons. As a proven winner, and the 2024 Daytona pole-sitter, Skeer brings invaluable experience to the program’s biggest race of the IMSA season, strengthening the team’s bid for victory in the opening event.
“I’m excited for Daytona,” echoed Elliott Skeer. “After last year, we know we are capable of winning it. It’s a full day of pushing and adapting through everything this race throws at you. Anything can happen, but that’s the beauty of endurance racing! It’s a new year with a lot of unknowns, so we just need to go out there, execute to the very best of our abilities and see what happens, but I’m confident we’ll be fighting at the front of the field.”
The team recently completed a productive pre-season test at Daytona International Speedway, using the three-day event to hone mechanical setups and prepare the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the opening round.
Wright Motorsports will return to the track at the World Center of Racing on January 16th, 2026, for the official Roar Before the 24. The 24 Hours of Daytona will take place on January 24th and 25th, 2026.
